Well today I started on my path to physical happiness (that sounded straighter in my head) by beginning the planning phase of what I’m now calling my “physical revolution”. Basically today I wrote down what I wanted to achieve with my physical appearance from the 1/5/2004 to 1/9/2004 after deciding that planning should be done in three monthly stints.
So what I came up with is basically get my body fat percentage down to 15%, not that I know what it is at the moment but I’m 100% sure its much more than that. As far as muscle growth is concerned I want muscle tone and definition. Luckily for me I have been genetically blessed with large amounts of muscle mass for minimum effort, so I’m not to concerned about expanding the size of my muscles to much, more making the most of the ones I’ve already got. Now my as far as my stomach goes I would ideally like to have abs, but would be happy with just a flat one if that’s all my genetics allow… time will tell.
So the second thing I did today to make help me along the way is write some e-mails. While this doesn’t sound like it’s going to make much of a difference to my physical appearance I’m hoping it will because the e-mails were asking for help from a verity of different fitness groups that I have always believed to know their stuff. The first place that popped into my head when I decided to start the revolution was EAS. I first heard of EAS a few years ago when my mother purchased Body for life, a great book that basically teaches you how to transform your body from flab to “hold me handsome” in 12 weeks and keep it that way for life.
Unfortunately my current finical state doesn’t allow me to use EAS products but if I could afford to, I would be using them because as I understand it they are the single most effective way of making the changes I desire in my body. So my e-mail to EAS was basically asking them for any support they can offer me, big or small. Frankly I’m not expecting to get anything from them, but hey if I don’t ask then a defiantly wouldn’t get anything from them so it can’t hurt to give it a shot.
Another place I e-mailed was Massey University to see if they could help me out in any way. Once again I’ll be surprised if I can get any help really, but nothing ventured nothing gained is my attitude to this stuff. Anyway when I was looking around for places to get in touch with about this I also decide to have a look see at the EAS Body for life challenge. Basically it’s a competition that runs each year to encourage people to take up the challenge of getting fit and healthy. While the competition itself doesn’t really interest me, the 12 week program to achieve the kinds of results that some of past competitors got sure tickles my fancy.
So the third thing I did today to make it all happen was apply for the challenge and do a lot of reading about the body for life program. One of things that really got my interest is the amount of internet resources behind the program. They have just about everything you need to plan and record your exercise and nutritional needs. So if you’re interested check out www.bodyforlife.com its well worth a look.
Anyway I’ll put all of the resources I find along the way on my physical revolution page one I get it up and running next week. I’m feeling pretty good about how today went, and getting this stuff down in my blog is making me feel closer to my goals already, its quite exciting really.
