Writing on the recent signing of a statement to the UN Human Rights Counsel condemning “three strikes laws” Andrew Couts notes:
One surprise supporter of the statement was New Zealand, which recently signed into law anti-piracy legislation that allows the government to impose a mandatory disconnection from the Internet for up to six months.
So basically if New Zealanders condemn this sort of thing we are fed some shit about a fictional killer AI, making fools of lawmakers domestically. If other nations condemn it we agree with them, making international jackasses out of the whole country… Hmmm
What are we paying these people for?
