The New York Times on the coming Facebook iPad app:
Facebook had its application for the iPhone ready right when the Apple App Store opened in July 2008. But more than a year after the iPad went on sale, there is still no official Facebook app for it.
When the iPhone app store first launched it was critical to Facebook’s mobile strategy that they be there on day one. The result is a less than stellar product (don’t even start me facebook notifications) so to my eyes the fact “there is still no official facebook app” for the iPad is a good thing. Facebook have no such pressure with the iPad, meaning hopefully they have taken the time needed to produce something of quality.
Regardless of time frame it will be interesting to see what Facebook come up with. I have my doubts about their UI skills.
