A lot of time the answer depends on how often the words “marketing department” appear on your business cards, but in saying that updates are always welcome in my books. To that end all your PS3 early adopters out there will be happy to know when you connect your nice new Playstation 3 to the Internet this coming Friday you’ll be greeted with the latest in a long line of PS3 firmware updates, bring new features before you even realised they were missing.
Some of these improvements include:
- Folding@home program - A great idea I hope other consoles get behind.
- Support for Bluetooth mice and keyboards - sure to be a hit with RTS fans
- A new full QWERTY on-screen keyboard
- Web browsing zoom
- A disc autoplay toggle
- Playback of rewriteable Blu-ray Discs
- Remote Play
- Background downloading
