Today I got a letter from my CCF sponsor child’s uncle. The reason I don’t get letters directly from my child is he’s only 4 so he’s not a big writer yet. Anyway it was interesting and concerning to learn that most of the crops his family grow died in a drought! Which as you can imagine is far from a good thing. It’s really quite devastating and I wish there was something more I could do. Tomorrow it’s my mission to write a big long letter (with photos) to them and hopefully give them a little hope for the future. I also want to find out if the family has anything that they need that maybe I could help them get. Its amazing how I have such huge feelings attached to this family that live on the other side of the earth. I’m really hopeful that the support they get from CCF will help them get through this hard time.
Also some other bad news that made its way to me today was the death of Spamtin from MGL. Spamtin was someone I didn’t really know that well but what I did know of her she was a fine person who did a lot for the gaming community in New Zealand, she will be missed.
