Today at work the office lady got a new chair. Of course this sounds completely boring but it gave me a really good look at stupid office dynamics. The chair was very flash, black leather, high back, and can recline, it is hands down the best chair in the office. Now some of the people in the office made fun of the office lady and her new chair simply because they resented the fact she had it.
It was really interesting to see what a high level of self importance some of the staff had, and how threatened they felt by something as simple as a chair. What I found most annoying about all this, was how the office lady was made to feel so uncomfortable about a stupid chair that she didn’t even want it anymore. Of course the irony of the whole thing is the office lady who has the chair is probably the most important member of our staff, and doesn’t realise it.
So anyway after that interesting event at work I was off to efrisson to get some work done there. Working at efrisson is such a great escape from anything else in my life that I might need distraction from, such as office politics. In fact I enjoy working on the company so much that I often find myself forgetting to do the simple things in life, like eating and sleeping. It’s reached the point that I actually have to schedule in lunch breaks to remind me to take them.
Anyway my Girl is out of town tonight so I’ve got my younger brother over to play some Battlefield Vietnam and swap manly stories, so I’m sure I’ll be getting very little sleep tonight.
