What a cool day, first of all I got to work from home this morning because dad wanted me to work on the company’s new logo. What’s exciting about the new logo is more the fact that dad has changed his mind set about change, which is really important given the company restructure.
You know I don’t think I give dad enough credit for his business mind. Every time I talk to him about business I’m constantly surprised as to his level of skill and knowledge. I’m not sure why I’m surprised really he does have years of experience and has built a large successful business.
Something that I realized today is how me and dad have this great relationship. Dad calls me at least once a week and we have real talks, not just talking about crap, I mean real talks about whats going on in our lives, from relationships to what government is up too.
It might sound a little cliche but I think I have more respect for dad than just about anyone. Whenever I have a situation that I’m not sure how to deal with I often turn to dad to draw on his knowledge and wisdom.
I wish there was some way I could show dad how much he and his support means to me. I genuinely believe that with out dads support I wouldn’t be the man that I am today. Whats funny about this is I’ve always worked hard to be “self made” but if there is one thing that I’ve learnt, its no one is self made.
