To be honest it’s been some time now since I’ve been to a LAN (3-4 years) so it’s was with a certain amount of excitement that I read about xLan 2006. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be going but I’m going to make every effort to get there. Why am I so interested? Well mainly because Xbox 360 is going to have a large presence at the event with Xbox 360 competitions/prizes, a chance to play/preview prey for the Xbox 360, and the opportunity to meet some of my fellow bloggers/Xbox.com forum users.
I can’t say I stand much of a chance winning anything at one of these events, but at only $20 for a full three days of Xbox gaming goodness, you can’t really go wrong. For full details check out the official word at xlan.co.nz.
Update 1: The xLan site appears to say the event is sold out. I’m looking for clarification if this applies to Xbox gamers or if its just for people taking along pcs? I’ll update when I know more. Could this be the end of my LAN trip before its even started?
Update 2: Susan Baikie from xLan informs me that sold out “applies the PC event and not the Xbox event”. So to be clear, the Xbox part of the event is not sold out. Great news, can’t wait to go 🙂
