Well with Google talk (gtalk) now out and me in love with the service I now have the mission of trying to get all you people on it so I actually have people to talk to. In the past I’ve played around with the audio chat feature on MSN and really it was totally arse, constantly suffering from cut outs and skipping. Google talk on the other hand has (so far) been clearer than a normal phone conversation when talking to annaish. I’m yet to test the service out on an international call but I’m looking forward to giving it a go.
So get online, download google talk, and get chatting to me. You’ll need a gmail account to use the service so give me an email “geekpulp [at] gmail [dot] com” if you want an invite. Apparently gmail is now public in the US and you need to confirm the account via SMS, but from what I can tell if you get an invite from me you don’t need to do this, but I’m not 100% on that.
I did actually send out invites via Google talk last night but for some reason none of them got to anyone (the only thing that sucks about google talk to date). Needless to say I think its going to take some time before I get all my mates over to the service but it’ll happen, its just a matter of time, my advice, give up now and come to the dark side (actually its quite light).
Now I’m expecting a comment from annaish going on about what a nut case I am, how she’s sick of hearing about Google, and that I need to stop. Pay no attention to her she’s a science geek, she just doesn’t understand how important things like this are. Get back to work on your milk powders I say 😉
