I don’t know why its taken me so long to blog about this exciting geek news in my world, but I finally go myself a wireless LAN at my home

In the end I went for a RangeMax Wireless Router from Netgear. Now it was a big decision to get that model because there are lots of different techs floating around at the moment with proposed new standards for wireless tech. The main reason I picked this one is because of the problems I’ve had with wireless products in the past dropping connections all the time and just generally being unstable. This product promised to have 1000% more coverage (which is your standard marketing BS) and more reliable connections. So I took a punt on it and sure enough its working great. In fact not once have I had a connection dropped and the speed is very consistent and quick. All and all I’m very happy with the results I’m getting and would highly recommend it as a home or small office access point.
Just to make things even cooler on the wireless scene of my house I’ve scored myself a sweet Dell Inspiron 6000 with built in wireless meaning I can now work online from my living room! Even better still I’ve also go a imate sp3 phone (which runs windows mobile 2003SE) which connects wirelessly to me laptop via bluetooth and syncs with outlook. So basically I’m in wireless heaven, now I’m just hanging out for xbox 360 to come out and then I’ll have some wireless gaming magic happing.
