While MS are tight lipped publicly about the features of the up and coming IE7 it looks like they are all talk when it comes to their partners. According to these “Key Partners” IE7 will include:
- Tabbed browser
- International domain name (IDN) support
- Transparent Portable Network Graphics (PNG) support
- Also will likely include a built-in news aggregator
- Increased security
Of course you may notice that CSS2 support is not on this list. Apparently MS are “leaning toward adding some additional CSS2 support to IE 7.0, but not embracing the standard in its entirety”.
Does anyone know why you wouldn’t want to support CSS2 fully? Has it just been put in the to hard basket?
