Once every 6 months or so I like to give my PC a format and start afresh, and last week happened to be just such an event. Now today on webfroot I notice a how to guide to make unattended Windows XP installations. Of course this would have been far more useful to me a week ago, but because I’m so keen to give it a try I’m going to format again this weekend using this new method.
One other advantage of this is that I can install the public preview release of “Avalon” the new presentation subsystem for Windows longhorn and Windows XP. Apparently the preview is quite buggy and is difficult/impossible to uninstall (hey its not even in beta yet) so its best to do a format after having a bit of a play.
