Well I haven’t really had a chance to blog the last few days (which pisses me off) but I’ve made some time to do it from now on so should be back on track…wOOt! Anyway I promised to go into more detail about my troy etc so here goes nothing.
Going into Troy I honestly wasn’t really expecting much more than yet another movie with huge battle scenes and a predictable plot but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Now I realise that most reviews (well the reviews I’ve read anyway) didn’t exactly give this movie five stars, but I actually really enjoyed it. Brad Pitt has had my respect as an actor ever since fight club, and I wasn’t disappointed by his portrayal of Achilles, aka the greatest warrior that ever lived. Funnily enough the fighting itself didn’t really add all that much to the movie I think its real strengths lay in the character driven plot. Anyway I could go on forever about how I enjoyed Troy but really taste in movies is a personal thing so you should check it out for yourself.
Now Half-Life 2 is a different matter all together as personal opinion doesn’t really count because Half-Life 2 is inherently perfect. So after downloading the 650ish meg video of Valves latest build of the game I excitedly went to unzip the file only to find it was corrupt and wouldn’t work! So I tried again but from a different server (just in case) but to my horror it was again corrupt!!! So by this point I was feeling a little pissed off but being a crazy Half-Life 2 fan I tried yet again, this time using a different ftp client. Well third time was the charm and my patience was rewarded with a working copy of the video.
Now I can’t stress enough what a high level of gaming Half-Life 2 actually is, it’s so good that it’s as if Valve have actually spent millions of dollars on developing a time machine thrusting themselves 10 years into the future stealing a game created by an artificially intelligent computer. Its more than just good graphics that make this game so good, the gaming world of HL2 has such an element of life to it. With things such as characters that look (not stare blankly) at you when you’re talking to them, it’s almost like being a character in a movie… and a good movie with plot at that.
Of course I could write for hours and hours about this, but then I wouldn’t have anything to put in my 400 page blog once the game is actually released 🙂 So on to more important things namely body for life. I said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again I feel fantastic on this program! I can’t stress enough how healthy I feel, I honestly believe that body for life has been a life changing event. Eating six times a day is the best thing I have ever done for my health, and the gym is just the icing on the cake, or should I say the cottage cheese on my potato.
The only thing I’m actually finding difficult is my free day on Sundays. This comes as a big surprise to me, going into the program I thought I was going to be living Sunday to Sunday, but I’ve grown to dislike them. In fact if the free day wasn’t part of the program I would skip it out all together. The main problem with the free day is how crappy normal food makes me feel. Believe me I don’t eat tons of fatty foods on Sundays, in fact I’ve found I have virtually no craving for “bad foods” at all.
So roll on tomorrow, I have the my 20 min cardio session at 7am and I can’t wait to get my heart pumping! Viva la resistance!
