Death by Gym

Hehe funny story, imagine just for a second you’re me. You were a dedicated gym going guy for about 12-18 months, decided to take a break for health reasons, then three years later jump back into things, sounds simple right, guess again! Today was my first day back at the gym and boy have I gone back wards over the past three years of inactivity. This isn’t that surprising really; I mean three years may as well have been 1000 when it comes to fitness. Anyway at the gym tonight I started off far too hard (I guess my enthusiasm got the best of me) and had far too much lactose in the smoothie from meal 4 (I won’t make that mistake again) which caused me to feel rather sick by the time I got to my second to last muscle group.

Feeling sick and exercise don’t exactly go together so I decided that I’d go to the loo, and hopefully feel better after that. Well I sure wasn’t disappointed, I closed the door to the cubical and had an all powerful vomit into the loo. Thankfully after getting all the smoothie/lactose out of my gut I felt 100% better and could easily continue with my exercise.

So because my Girlfriend had been recording what weights I had been lifting, next time I will be able to cut back on them a little so I don’t over do it and kill myself, and I’ll be sure to not have so much lactose. Even though I’ve had this setback (if you can call it that) I’m feeling just as excited as ever about getting into shape, in fact my brain is telling me suffering will only make the success taste sweeter.
